Our Story

How Verique Began

Verique started in 2016 as a small service counter tucked inside a building on Jalan Telawi. The founder, a trained horologist who spent years working under established Swiss-trained watchmakers in Penang, wanted to bring the same level of attentive, unhurried craft to Kuala Lumpur's watch community.

The name "Verique" draws from the Latin word verus — meaning true or genuine. It reflects a straightforward philosophy: be honest about what a watch needs, do the work thoroughly, and return it in the best condition possible. There are no shortcuts in mechanical watchwork, and we have never looked for any.

Over the years, Verique has grown through word-of-mouth referrals from collectors, enthusiasts, and individuals who simply want their watches looked after properly. We have serviced hundreds of movements — from vintage hand-wound pieces to modern automatic calibers — and our approach has remained the same since day one: patience, transparency, and proper technique.

Today, Verique operates from a dedicated workshop space in Bangsar, equipped with precision tooling and a controlled environment suited for delicate horological work. While we have expanded our capabilities — offering dial restoration, strap renewal, and bracelet servicing alongside full mechanical overhauls — the spirit of careful, considered work remains unchanged.

What Guides Us

Our Values

Transparency

We explain everything before starting work. You receive a clear assessment, an honest estimate, and no surprises along the way.

Patience

A mechanical movement has hundreds of parts, each requiring attention. We take the time each piece deserves, rather than rushing to meet arbitrary deadlines.

Precision

From regulation across six positions to colour-matching original dials, we hold ourselves to the standards that the craft demands — no compromises, no approximations.

How We Work

Quality Standards

Horological Training

Our watchmakers have trained under Swiss-certified professionals. Ongoing learning through industry seminars and manufacturer updates keeps techniques current.

Controlled Environment

The workshop maintains stable temperature and humidity to protect sensitive components during disassembly, cleaning, and regulation processes.

48-Hour Timing Protocol

Every serviced movement is monitored on a timing machine for 48 hours across multiple positions before being returned, ensuring rate accuracy within acceptable tolerances.

Documented Condition Reports

Each timepiece is photographed and its condition documented at intake and upon completion. Clients receive a detailed report summarising all work performed.

Secure Custody

Watches in our care are stored in a secure, access-controlled environment. We treat client property with the same caution and respect as our own collection pieces.

Responsible Sourcing

Replacement parts are sourced from reputable suppliers. Where original manufacturer parts are unavailable, we discuss alternatives with the client before proceeding.

Horological Expertise in Kuala Lumpur

Watch repair is a discipline that rewards focus and discourages haste. At Verique, we approach every caliber — whether a vintage hand-wound movement from the 1960s or a modern automatic with complications — with the same level of care. Our Bangsar workshop is equipped with timing machines, ultrasonic cleaning baths, and a full set of precision hand tools suited to movements from major Swiss and Japanese manufacturers.

Malaysia's growing community of watch enthusiasts and collectors deserves access to competent, transparent horological services. We are proud to be part of that landscape, contributing not just technical skill but also a willingness to educate our clients about what makes their watches tick — both literally and figuratively. Whether you are considering your first mechanical watch service or entrusting a family heirloom for restoration, Verique offers the knowledge and steady hands to see the job done right.
